This is an ideal first word game for pre-schoolers and early readers which has win awards for it's excellence. My First Bananagrams uses lowercase letters for word building and has combo-letter tiles to help children create words and develop literacy skills.
The game comes in a canvas, banana-shaped pouch with a zip fastening and 80 single letter tiles, 13 double letter tiles and instructions. For 1 to 4 players, games take around 15 minutes to play depending on what you choose to do.
To play the game, start by placing all 80 single letter tiles facedown in the center of the table. These form the “Bunch.” Each player takes 15 single-letter tiles. The object of the game is to be the first to use all your letters in a connected word grid without a spelling mistake, noun or abbreviation.
There are also multiple ways to use the tiles to progress your preschooler in their reading skills. Like spelling your name, placing the letters of the alphabet in order and letter matching.
The instructions showcase 11 different tile activities which progress children towards the full game, and to then moving onto Bananagrams Original (the set for older children and adults).
