This is a fabulous game for a group to play together as a team - solve a series of puzzles, riddles and clues to solve the mystery and uncover the mystery of the locked crypt to discvier the coveted gem inside. The story plays out that according to an old legend, a priceless red ruby is said to be hidden in the tomb of Sir Reginald Wreston and it can only be found when the moon is at just the right angle in the night’s sky. The problem is, the moon is only ever at the right angle at midnight on a specific night once every 87 years! But guess what? Tonight is that night!Up until now the crypt has remained sealed, and over the course of centuries, no one has ever succeeded in opening it. “Who knows what might happen tonight …” you think to yourself as you make your way into the darkness. Will you and your group of curious treasure hunters have what it takes to finally solve the mystery and uncover the coveted gem?The game takes between about an hour or two hours to play, depending on how quickly you can solve the series of puzzles. Everything you need is in the small box - a series of clues, themed card props, a de-coder disc and help cards in case you get stuck. All really well illustrated and thoughtfully put together. This isn't a board game but a step-by-step set of challenges which you are lead through by the illustrated instruction booklet. You must look at clue cards one-by-one to prevent spoilers!

The booklet sets the scene extremely well and really helps you to feel part of the mystery story unfolding.

This game can be played only one time because you must markup, fold, and tear the game materials to solve the riddles and escape.

For ages 12 years and upwards, the game is great for a single player or a team of 2 to 4 (a few more is fine as long as you can all see the play pieces). Work together rather than against each other, and time yourselves as an extra challenge. This game is part of a series of Exit games and is classed as 3 out of 5 in terms of difficulty.

Though not essential, it is fun to download the Thames & Kosmos app on your phone or tablet which can read through the manual for you if you like, and provides a stop watch timer.Mrs Jollys says "we love playing these games as a family as they provide a chance to work together. Some of us are better at some types of clues than others, so we all have the chance to contribute and feel a part of the game. Grab some popcorn and drinks, turn off your phones and spend some quality time together!"
