The Jolly Blog

It's coming. Two or three weeks of no school, glorious weather, idyllic family time and sibling bonding time.

Ok so the only thing in there that is definitely true is the no school bit. It looks like the weather will be blisteringly cold and we all know that can lead to cabin fever and bonding of the kind where bottoms are bonded to the naughty step more than siblings bonding in the emotional sense of the word.

Well Sunday's Pop Up High Street was a great success. We had lots of visitors who came to browse the shops, take tea and generally enjoy the atmosphere of the afternoon. Families brought their Mums and Grannies and judging by the lack of cake left over at the end, and plebty of worn out stallholders, they were treated to plenty of indulgent treats!

Jollys has a great range of puppets which we are very proud of and our customers love them. They're the kind of quality products that sell themselves, especially when we showcase them at our Pop Up Shops.

The beauty of puppets is that they're like soft toys but with a purpose and a much longer life. As a parent have you ever wondered what in heavens you're going to do with the many dozens of soft toys that your children get given or acquire along their way through their first years?

Jollys has been instrumental in organising a Pop Up High Street event in its local community, which will be popping up this Mothering Sunday 10th March. Listen to our interview with John Griff of BBC Radio Northampton from this past Wednesday to find out more...

While everyone else has been hibernating, dieting and shovelling snow, we've been busy bees since Christmas building our new look Jollys Toys website.

It's faster, easier to navigate, has much more product information available, not to mention more sophisticated search options which make Jollys Gift Finder more fab than ever! Oh! And you can now view JollysToys.co.uk on your iPad/tablet or mobile phone so searching for gifts is possible while waiting for the children to come out of school or while you slump on the sofa after hours.

'Popping Up for Mothers Day' in WI Life

Jollys features in this month's issue of WI Life, the national magazine of the Women's Insitute!

On page 15 you'll find me, Mrs Jollys (aka Charlotte Croser) beaming amongst a pile of toys next to fellow WI member Hilary Horton. Myself and Hilary are setting up Northamptonshire's first Pop-Up High Street - an event aimed at promoting local businesses and celebrating Mothering Sunday.
